With hearts full of joy and hope, the Laudato Youth Initiative is thrilled to announce its vibrant participation in the upcoming National Youth Conference 2025, to be hosted by Gulu Diocese from December 9–14, 2025, at Gulu Cathedral Parish. This historic gathering expected to draw over 15,000 young people from across Uganda marks the largest Catholic youth event in nearly three decades!
Under the powerful theme “You also are my witnesses” (John 15:27), young Catholics will come together in prayer, leadership formation, cultural celebration, and dynamic missionary encounter. And in this great witness of faith, Laudato Youth will bring a special message to the heart of the conference: our call to care for our Common Home.

An Integral Ecology Witness
Laudato Youth will feature an Eco-Exhibition Booth—a creative and interactive space where faith meets action for the planet. As you may all know signs are changing rapidly, floods, heat waves, droughts, mudslides, these are no longer signs and warnings they are realities that invite us to hid to the call for unity and climate action spearheaded by Laudato Youth Initiative with a strong message; join u s in mobilising young people to lead the way, agro forestry is a game changer, faith formation is a need for all of us as young people, responsible use of technologies like Ai that pause a challenge to human dignity, Peace building and the importance of reconciliation, Mental health etc.. You cant miss all this from the Laudato Youth Initiative Booth. Here, young people will encounter stories, innovations, and local projects inspired by Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’. From tree-planting initiatives, mental health programs, and waste recycling initiatives to renewable energy demonstrations and eco-art, the booth will showcase how the youth are putting the Gospel into action through ecological conversion.
United for Climate Action – Our motto
Leading this powerful witness will be our Laudato Si’ Club of Koch Goma, Gulu, uniting other Laudato Si’ Clubs from across the country. Together, these passionate young stewards will share testimonies of faith, creativity, and service proving that caring for creation is not just an environmental act, but a profound expression of discipleship.

A Generation on Mission
As the National Youth Conference gathers thousands in song, prayer, and reflection, the Laudato Youth Initiative stands as a beacon of hope ready to remind all participants that being a witness to Christ also means being a witness to creation because we were all created by God and were given the responsibility to care for God’s Creation. Every tree planted, every plastic picked and recycled, every heart inspired becomes part of the Gospel story of renewal and hope.
