Laudato Si Voices | Laudato Si’ Action Platform 5th Anniversary Press Conference | Holy See Press Rome | 04/11/2026
Since 2024, the Laudato Youth Initiative has collaborated with the Laudato Si’ Action Platform sharing stories on how our Laudato Si Clubs are building pathways to climate resilience and ecological conversion in Uganda, forming stewards of the future, and our concrete climate action response activity programs that are uniting youth for climate action in schools, universities, parishes, dioceses, and communities to promote Integral Ecology.
The Laudato Si’ Action Platform
The Platform was launched in 2021, following the Laudato Si’ Year announced by Pope Francis in 2020. It provides a digital space where families, parishes, schools, religious congregations, dioceses, and other institutions can develop integral ecology plans, undertake practical initiatives, and monitor their progress. Among the most frequently reported activities are recycling, purchasing food from local producers, composting, and installing energy-efficient lighting.
Laudato Si’ Platform Launches Digital Atlas to Map Catholic Ecological Action
On November 4, 2026, Alonso de Llanes, program director of the Laudato Si’ Action Platform, announced a new Digital Atlas and priorities for the coming years at the Holy See Press Office. It is designed to connect Catholic institutions’ ecological initiatives with geographical and environmental information. Speaking at the press conference, Br. Adolf said,
“This is exciting for us because we are also building a national platform for our Laudato Si Clubs and Clubs’ activities in Uganda designed to respond to environmental challenges of grassroots communities. We hope it will feed into the global Platform Atlas Map.”
Sr. Alessandra Smerilli, Prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, stressed that Laudato Si’ was never intended simply as a text to be read, but as an invitation to personal and communal conversion.
