The Laudato Si Club at Immaculate Heart Girls’ School ( LSiC – IMMAC) empower students to embrace Integral Ecology, combining faith, conservation, good manners, responsible use of media, innovation for sustainability, research, peace building, mental health, and African cultural values. Laudato Youth at IMMAC through their Laudato Si Club cultivate unity, fwork towards building a genuine community, and supportive friendships among members and in the school in ways that respect their culture, honor their parents, and, above all, live with reverence for God inspired by Pope Francis’ Land Mark encyclical Laudato Si on care for our common home.
The goal of the Laudato Youth Initiative is to empower young people to lead practical climate action and build sustainable solutions rooted in faith and integral ecology. Our “Laudato Youth” strive to embody the message of Pope Francis’s encyclical Laudato Si’, prioritizing care for our common home and a preferential option for the underserved, whether the poor, the elderly, the sick, or the environment itself. Our model brings to the Church the gift of the African interpretation of Laudato Si’ by drawing inspiration from the Uganda Martyrs and the ecological witness of St. Adolf Mukasa Ludigo, Patron Saint of Herdsmen and Farmers.
