Laudato Si Voices |02 October, 2026 | New Laudato Si Club Launched in Luweero
On September 26, 2026, the Laudato Youth Initiative (LYI) and Bethany Land Institute (BLI) celebrated the launch of a Laudato Si Club at St. Theresa Nandere Boys’ Primary School in Nandere. This vibrant club will inspire pupils to embrace Laudato Si’ values through hands-on eco-restoration activities like tree planting, creative waste management, reducing plastic use, and encouraging care for the environment.

During the lively opening ceremony, Programs Coordinator Ruth, representing LYI and BLI, inspired students to embrace their role as caretakers of God’s creation. She presented the LYI Clubs’ Emblem, symbolizing the Clubs’ unity and shared heritage with our Laudato Si’ Clubs across the nation. The Laudato Youth Initiative continues to nurture the next generation of environmental stewards, now mentoring a growing network of over 30 clubs countrywide.
The event culminated in a joyful tree-planting activity, where pupils eagerly put their hands in the soil, expressing their commitment to care for God’s creation.

With BLI’s innovative Agroforestry Model, our clubs in Luweero will discover how to heal the land, enrich soil health, boost biodiversity, and champion food security and sustainable livelihoods.
At Laudato Youth Initiative, we believe that mentoring young, ecologically conscious citizens is an investment in the future, cultivating responsible stewards committed to transforming our common
