Laudato Youth Initiative Launches Laudato Si’ Clubs in Luweero District
The Season of Creation through its Visionary theme: Peace with Creation" Invites us to Create Peace with God, Nature and our Neighbors
30th Sept 2025. The Laudato Youth Initiative, in partnership with Bethany Land Institute, proudly launched three new Laudato Si’ Clubs at St. Kizito Primary School, Wakatayi Primary School, and Bukasa Roman Catholic Primary School. These clubs are more than green clubs they are a practical response and fruit of the Laudato Si Africa Conference where LYI and BLI committed to enhance ecological education from the grassroots; in communities, institutions and churches. From building green sanctuaries of learning of integral ecology, to uniting young people with the community for Climate Action, and transformation driven by the spirit of Laudato Si’ and inspired by voices from grassroots families to communities and institutions across Uganda and Africa responding to church’s call for everyones talent in caring for God’s creation but also carrying on Pope Francis’ ecological legacy.

BLI works within the Laudato Si’ Action Platform, actively pursuing the seven Laudato Si’ Goals. They recognize the inherent connection between the cry of the Earth and the cry of the poor, and our program equally recognizes the importance of education, environmentalism, and sound economics together with LYI we mentor Laudato Si Clubs in the greater Luweero and Nadere region (Read about LYI)

From Climate Crisis to Resilience: Reflection from the Vatican Africa Summit at CIFOR-ICRAF - Nairobi
June 30th marked a moment of great honor and inspiration as our Laudato Si Clubs President joined fellow youth leaders, scientists, policymakers, and community voices at the CIFOR-ICRAF campus for the Vatican African Climate Resilient Summit. Hosted at the World Agroforestry Centre in Nairobi, Kenya, this gathering brought together diverse leaders around a shared vision: moving beyond mitigation to embrace climate resilience rooted in science, solidarity, and local leadership.
