National Youth Conference 2025, Gulu – Speech by LSiC Fort-Portal Diocese Youth Leader

Laudato Voices | National Youth Conference | December 14, 2025

Your Grace, esteemed clergy, and fellow youths.

Today, as we end the annual National Youth Conference, I write to you filled with gratitude and admiration. I would like to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt thanks to the organizers of this remarkable event, especially the Gulu Archdiocese, for graciously hosting us this year.
This conference unites youth from all 19 dioceses of the Uganda Episcopal Conference, creating a space to share our experiences, learn from one another, and grow in our faith.

The warmth and hospitality that we have experienced in Gulu are a testimony to the incredible spirit of community that thrives in this Archdiocese.

Organizing an event of this magnitude requires immense effort, dedication, and commitment. From planning the logistics to coordinating activities, the team has worked tirelessly to ensure that every detail is in place. Thank you for your diligent work, your unwavering passion, and your vision for empowering the youth of our country.

Fort Portal Diocese Laudato Si Club promoted the message on single-use plastics and responded to the challenge by collecting all plastics, encouraging people in Gulu to use locally made bags to reduce pollution and cut their carbon footprint. Laudato Youth is encouraging single-use plastics hiding in the Laudato Si Consortium Resolution of May during the 10th Anniversary of Laudato Si

This conference is not just about gathering. It is about fostering our growth as individuals and as a community. The workshops, discussions, and spiritual sessions have inspired us to be leaders in our parishes and communities. We have been reminded of our shared responsibility to care for one another. We are called to embody the teachings of Christ in our daily lives.

As we leave this conference, let us carry the messages of hope, love, and unity we have learned here. Let us return to our Dioceses with renewed vigor. Let us commit to making a difference in the lives of our peers and our communities.

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to everyone involved in organizing this conference. Your dedication has made this event possible. You have also made it a profound experience for all of us. May God bless you abundantly for your hard work and commitment to the youth of Uganda. May our journey continue to be guided by faith and love.

Thank you.
