A section of Laudato Youth participated in the Green Schools program, a project that aims to instill environmental stewardship and sustainability practices in young people.

This is a good experience for our Laudato Youth to interact with students from other schools to share views and amplify voices for a sustainable future. When I paid a visit to the team at Kololo S.S.S. I was glad to meet the zealous teacher Immaculate and the students. We had a nice interaction about their experience and involvement as members of the club and as a team with teacher Immaculate and Tr. Emma who I was not able to catch up with at the moment. We shared light moments and talked about their experiences and debates on different motions. They shared to have found the debate like any other debate empowering to discuss environmental problems and find solutions.

Laudato Club’s President Sarah K joins Teacher Immaculate and the debate team of Holy Cross Lake View at Kololo S.S.S

The club President Jovial said for she finds the experience as one that inspired them to re discover what they know about climate change and be able to suggest solutions in situation where climate change is a threat to us all as a way to explore solutions to issues facing nature.

At Laudato we “Unite for Climate Action” this is an affirmation for the Laudato Youth with their positive energy in creation care to grow more in their intention of ACTION RESPONSE to response to climate change because the time is now.

I commend such initiatives, because they are good and give our youth a platform to share their views and integrate environmental education and experiences obtained.

Much is being done by our Laudato youth in schools that equips them with skills and helps them nurture passion for creation care a way in which we form a generation that is environmentally conscious.

Sharing a light moment with Laudato youth and Tr. Immaculate. In Laudato its about Uniting for Climate Action

As we look towards entering the “Season of Creation” we plan to do more as Laudato Youth in ACTION RESPONSE to NURTURE a path to nurturing a generation of environmentally conscious young people in schools, Universities, Churches and Communities. The time to act is now. We have a culture and heritage to preserve.

Our Laudato youth are busy out there planting trees we want to plant “ONE MILLION TREES” by the end of this January 2025 and its exciting to see how our Laudato youth more focused on this cause for me it’s an investment for our own future.

Green schools’ National debate Kololo SSS brought together different schools representing different regions after qualifying through their environmental projects.

Meeting Holy Cross Lake View students most of whom are Laudato members sharing how their journey has been and how they were chosen to represent Eastern region through their Laudato Si activities was very exciting to see.

My message to them be good learners and reliable ACTION ambassadors as we say in Laudato. Now its time to take action so that these debates do not only remain theoretical but trigger more and more action and I pray that more young people out there embrace initiatives like these. When we unite for a cause, we can achieve greater.

United for Climate Action. Together for a greener tomorrow. To hope and act for creation – season of creation theme 2024
