The Laudato Club of Moreau is pleased to share with you its innovative response to climate action entitled “the Seven Practical Everyday Ideas model” to guide, support, and enlighten your journey as you care for God’s creation and reduce the difficulties faced along the way. These ideas have been carefully crafted to inspire positive change and promote environmental conservation in our daily lives as club members but also for our school community and beyond.

Firstly, prioritize connecting with the outside world. At Moreau, students and teachers actively engage with the natural environment outside the confines of the classroom. This connection fosters a deep bond with nature and encourages conservation efforts.

Secondly, turn to prayer. As children of God, prayer is a powerful tool that can guide us through challenges and uncertainties. By seeking God’s mercy and guidance, we can cultivate a heart for environmental stewardship and inspire others to join us in protecting Mother Nature.

Thirdly, embrace the 4Rs – reduce, refuse, recycle, and reuse. Implementing these principles at Moreau has transformed our approach to waste management and sustainability. By disposing of waste responsibly, rejecting improper disposal practices, and reusing materials, we have created a clean and environmentally friendly space at our school.

Fourthly, we encourage learning from one another. Each individual possesses unique talents and perspectives, which can enrich our understanding of environmental conservation. By sharing knowledge and experiences, we can collectively work towards a greener future.

Fifth, engaging in meaningful conversations about environmental issues is also crucial. Through activities like poetry composition and debates, we raise awareness about the importance of caring for God’s creation and addressing climate change. “Reflecting on what is happening to our common home”.

Sixth, focus on one task at a time to avoid feeling overwhelmed. By prioritizing and dedicating time to each project, the Laudato Club at Moreau has successfully completed initiatives and achieved academic excellence.

Lastly, collaborate with our leaders, fellow club members and embrace the Laudato Youth Initiative mentorship model. By working together and supporting one another, we can accomplish great feats in protecting the environment and promoting sustainable practices.

We urge you therefore to join Laudato Clubs and to take up the challenge of promoting God’s creation through prayer, cooperation, and commitment. Together, we can create a greener and more sustainable world. United for Climate Action!
