Celebrate Creation Day with the Laudato Youth Initiative! All our talents and gift matter wether as an individual, group, or community, our Laudato Si’ Clubs invite you to gather in prayer and listen deeply to the cry of the Earth and the cry of the poor. Let us respond with a prayers and actions that promote peace and care for creation.

Creation Day is a time of gratitude, reflection, action, and prayer a sacred moment to honor the gift of creation and renew our commitment to care for our common home.

Here’s how we at Laudato Youth are celebrating:

- For most of us have began the day with Prayer & Reflection
- We will spend time in nature visiting our Creation Gardens and caring for trees we’ve planted. At Laudato, we don’t just plant trees, with our one million tree planting drive we plant trees that feed, restore ecosystems, and are cared for.
- We will plant more fruit Indigenous and carbon sinking trees.
- ⁠we have committed to promote peace and live peacefully through song with our peace theme “Let Creation Sing Again”
- We will engage with communities through both prayer and action
- Mobilize youth to Strengthen our commitment to building a climate-resilient generation of Laudato Youth, dedicated to advancing the ecological legacy of Pope Francis

World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation 🌱

On this special day, we reflect on the theme chosen by our beloved Pope Francis: “Seeds of Peace and Hope”.

As we mark the tenth anniversary of this day, which coincides with the publication of the Encyclical Laudato Si’, we are reminded of the deep connection between faith and the care for our common home. Today, we celebrate the Jubilee as “Pilgrims of Hope” a timely call to continue nurturing a world of peace, justice, and sustainability.

Let us sow seeds of hope for a brighter future and commit to protecting the Earth for generations to come.

As the global Church steps into the Season of Creation (September 1 – October 4, 2025), the Laudato Youth Initiative is lifting its voice in harmony with this year’s theme: “Peace with Creation.” In a world aching with division, environmental destruction, digital divide, and spiritual neglect in some parts of the world, young people are stepping forward to lead with courage, creativity, and deep-rooted faith. Their language? Music, song, and praise. Their means is digital space, we now call them digital missionaries of hope. #SeasonofCreation #laudatoyouthinitiative @seasonofcreation

Our Season of Creation will be a beautiful time for all our Laudato Si Clubs to reflect deeply on the themes of Peace and Hope for Creation, under our year long slogan: “Sowing Seeds of Peace and Hope for Creation.”

We will sow seeds of peace by engaging in interfaith dialogue, praying for peace, and build bridges for peace! We all need to be peacemakers in our communities.

We will nurture hope for creation by living out the spiritual message of Laudato Si – “Praise be to You!” – through music and prayer, as we give thanks to God for the gift of creation and for Laudato Si, the precious legacy Pope Francis has given to the Church.

We are also continuing our One Million Tree Planting Drive, and during this Season of Creation, we warmly invite you to join us in this mission. #LYI1MTreePlantingDrive

Pope Leo XIV invites the faithful to unite in prayer and fasting on 22 August for peace, and calls for a “disarmed and disarming peace” in all places torn by armed conflict.

Addressing the faithful gathered in the Paul VI Hall for his weekly General Audience, Pope Leo XIV turned his thoughts once more to the world’s many conflict zones. In recalling the upcoming liturgical commemoration of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which is celebrated on Friday, 22 August, the Pope invited the faithful to celebrate that day by praying and fasting for peace. #pope #prayer for #peace @borgolaudatosi

Our Laudato Youth Initiative Programs Manager recently visited Mr. Male Joseph, Founding Director of Avail Fruits of Faith Farm. This visit marks an important step in our ongoing commitment to strengthening the involvement of our Laudato Si’ Clubs in climate-smart farming and agricultural innovation.

As part of this commitment, the Youth Initiative—through strategic partnerships—is looking forward to expanding and enhancing its practical, school- and community-based programs. These efforts begin with teaching young people the value of farming and its vital role in agriculture, the backbone of our country’s economy.

We commend Avail Fruits of Faith Farm for its dedication to empowering young people and promoting sustainable agricultural practices that align with the spirit of Laudato Si’.

We are excited to share with you that the 11th edition of Laudato Voices Magazine will soon be available online. This rich edition features powerful stories of ecological conversion.

Pope Leo has consistently drawn connections between environmental degradation and broader global issues, embracing the concept of integral ecology—a theme strongly emphasized by Pope Francis in his 2015 encyclical Laudato Si’: On Care for Our Common Home. This edition highlights how the crises facing our planet—social, economic, and environmental—are deeply intertwined. The Laudato Youth Initiative is carefully walking in the footsteps of Pope Francis through our small “palms–big footprint” approach.

This edition also features our year-long theme, “Sowing Seeds of Peace and Hope for Creation,” which leads us into the Season of Creation. In our recently concluded Laudato Si’ Green Festival, we reflected on the interconnectedness of peace and the environment, recognizing that caring for creation is inseparable from the pursuit of justice and peace.

As we look to the vision of Pope Leo, we are challenged to hasten our commitment to a more sustainable and peaceful world. His leadership continues to inspire action rooted in faith, justice, and ecological responsibility.

In today’s connected world, digital media has become a vital space where young people live out and share their faith. From participating in online prayer activities, streaming Mass, and engaging with Catholic content on social platforms, to using storytelling, podcasts, and short videos to advocate for social justice, creation care, and spiritual growth, the younger generation is transforming digital media into a vibrant mission territory.

Digital tools offer young people opportunities not just for communication, but for evangelization, community building, and faith formation. The Laudato Si Club of Holy Cross Lake View was honored to be visited by the Youth Chaplain of Fort Portal Diocese, Fr. Mugabyomu Paul, along with Fr. Augustine Sunday Atwooki from the Diocese of Jinja.

Fr. Paul encouraged our Laudato Youth (Stewards of the future) to remain prayerful and to extend the spirit of Laudato Si’—which they actively live out at school—to their homes and communities. He also reminded them to prioritize their safety and well-being during the upcoming holidays.

They shared a joyful moment to cutting a Lsudato Si Cake, celebrating both the club’s efforts during the recently concluded Laudato Si’ Green Festival 2025 and the successful end of Term 2. The evening concluded with a heartfelt prayer and blessing from the two visiting priests.
