We are a non-profit Catholic Religious Youth-Led initiative in Uganda that promotes the encyclical Laudato Si’ and Enviromental Action to create more sustainable communities. Our activities and programs focus on responding to climate change through clubs in schools, universities, and dioceses.

We gather as pilgrims of green hope, united in thanksgiving to God for the precious gift of creation. Through the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, we honor the Creator, acknowledging the sacredness of the earth and Gods creation in it.
Green Masses call us to a deeper reflection a philosophy that honors God by caring for what He has entrusted to us. In this sacred time, we recall the moments when we have fallen short of our calling to be faithful stewards of creation. We seek forgiveness and renew our commitment to live in harmony with the earth.
Today, we also reflect on the inspiring faith of St. Adolf, patron of farmers and herdsmen, who reminds us of the dignity of rural life and the sacred bond between humanity and the land.
We remember the prophetic voice of Pope Francis, whose ecological legacy continues to challenge and inspire us. His encyclical Laudato Si’ urges us to:
“Hear both the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor,” and to humbly place ourselves in communion with our common home.
Let this celebration renew in us a spirit of gratitude, reverence, and responsibility. May we go forth as caretakers of creation, walking gently on the earth with faith, humility, and hope.

On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the pu

On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the publication of Pope Francis’ Encyclical Laudato Si’ (2015), on Saturday, May 24, our Laudato Youth Mentor Br. Adolf joined a group of people interested in caring for our Common Home who gathered at the San Giuseppe Allamano Auditorium of the Consolata Missions Institute (IMC) in Rome to attend “The Letter”, a message for the Earth.
The documentary film tells the story of four environmental activists from different countries who traveled to the Vatican to talk with Pope Francis about the Encyclical “Laudato Si’ ”. Among them are an indigenous person from the Amazon (Brazil), a climate refugee from Senegal, a young Indian activist and two American biologists. The meeting highlights the importance of dialogue and collective participation in addressing the socio-environmental crisis, drawing inspiration from the message of “Laudato Si’” which is a reference for numerous initiatives in favor of nature and an inspiration for political and social projects. Held during Laudato Si’ Week (May 24-31), the event was organized and coordinated by writer, journalist and Brazilian scholar Antonella Rita Roscilli and IMC Communications Director Father Jaime C. Patias.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Archbishop Luigi Bianco, the Apostolic Nuncio to Uganda, who has been reassigned by Pope Leo XIV to serve as the Holy See’s representative in Slovenia and Kosovo.
We are especially grateful for the inspiration he brought to the Laudato Youth Initiative, encouraging our commitment to ecological justice and care for our common home. His presence among us was a reminder of Christ’s love, and his words continue to guide our mission.

We ended the week today at St. Adolf Holy Cross Parish, Kanyabachope with an inspiring Mass under the Trees of Reconciliation.
