Small Christian Communities at St Adolf Holy Cross Parish play a vital role in living out the principles of Laudato Si’, Pope Francis’ encyclical on care for our common home. Guided by their patron Saint St Adolf Mukasa Ludigo and by the Holy Spirit they have been able to achieve a lot by embracing the values of Laudato Si’.This had helped them to respond to Pope Francis’ invitation to care for mother Earth. The SCCs engage in praying, cleanliness, tree planting and animal rearing in homes and villages .
For Laudato Youth Initiative, this reality is deeply personal. Children are among the most affected many miss school due to hunger, lack access to clean drinking water, and must travel long distances just to find it. This contributes to malnutrition, fatigue, illness, and lost educational opportunities.
The Laudato Si’ Club at St. Adolf Parish is responding to this urgent need by prioritizing sanitation, cleanliness, and food security. We believe these are not just immediate needs but long-term investments in the well-being of families and future generations. Through this mission, we seek to restore dignity, renew hope, and protect our common home.
SCCs at the parish are a powerful way to live out the message of Laudato Si’, fostering a sense of community, care for creation, and commitment to justice and peace.
As Christians, we are called to live out our faith in community with others. Small Christian Communities (SCCs) provide a unique opportunity for believers to come together, share their faith, and serve their community.
If you’re looking for a way to live out your faith in a more meaningful way, consider joining a Small Christian Community. Join one today and discover the joy of living out your faith in community with others. Together, we can make a positive impact in our world and grow in our understanding of God’s love.
