Season’s Greetings and Happy New Year 2026 from the Laudato Youth Initiative

Immaculate Kisembo | Season’s Greetings and Happy New Year 2026| 27th Dec, 2025

As we step into this new year with hope and renewed purpose, we celebrate the remarkable journey we have walked together — driven by faith, creativity, courage, and a prfound love for our Common Home. Over the past year, our Laudato Youth leaders, mentors, and Laudato Si’ Clubs across schools, universities, parishes, dioceses, and communities have shown that meaningful climate action is both possible and transformative when rooted in integral ecology, action response, spiritual conviction, and community solidarity.

In 2025, we witnessed:

Thousands of young people engaged in climate education, tree planting, and environmental stewardship under our guidance.

The launch and expansion of our One Million Tree Planting Drive, nurturing indigenous and fruit trees that heal ecosystems and support food security which started last year will continue to inspire our response to climate action and build resilience.

Empowerment through Laudato Si’ Clubs, where faith meets action — inspiring innovation, creativity, and ecological conversion has been a pillar to our work.

Powerful community moments like the Green Festival, eco-exhibitions, green walks, and celebrations of Laudato Si’ 10 years anniversary have united our hearts and voices for creation care.

As we greet 2026, let us recommit ourselves to…

Strengthening our impact through ecological education, sustainable agricultural practices, and climate resilience — guided by the Message of peace and hope in Laudato Si’.

Reflecting on our African Wisdom to Build a generation that leads with creativity, innovation, faith and use their talents for strategic advocacy.

Carrying forward hope in action — not just imagining a better future, but helping build it with every seed we plant, and grow every we plant in the Laudato Si Clubs we mentor and the young people and community we serve.

On behalf of the Laudato Youth Initiative I want to say thank you to every Laudato youth and club leaders, mentors, those who have partnered with us in some activities, and supporters who have walked with us this far. May 2026 be a year of renewed energy, joyful service, and deeper care for our common home and one another. Together, let us be the change our world urgently needs to see us building bridges of ecological peace as we Pope Leo XIV reminds us “Peace be with you” Happy New Year!
