By Laudato Voices | September 7, 2025, as the bells of St. Peter’s Basilica rang joyfully, a mother stood with tears in her eyes not of sorrow, but of sacred wonder. Antonia Acutis, the mother of Carlo, looked on as her son was declared a saint of the Catholic Church.
In that moment, the world witnessed not just the canonisation of a teenager, but the fruit of a mother’s love, prayer, and faith. A child raised to love the Eucharist, to care for the poor, to use technology for good. A son who once said, “Everyone is born as an original, but many die as photocopies.”
Now, that original soul has become a saint.
Saint Carlo Acutis, pray for us!
May we, like you, strive to share God’s love through media,
choosing purity over popularity,
simplicity over success,
and holiness over hype.
Let this be a moment of hope for all parents, youth like us, and digital missionaries
that God still raises saints in our times.
Even through screens, code, and camera lenses,
the Gospel can shine. Care for Gods Creation is valued as all say.
