Small Christian Communities at St Adolf Holy Cross Parish play a vital role in living out the principles of Laudato Si’, Pope Francis’ encyclical on care for our common home. Guided by their patron Saint St Adolf Mukasa Ludigo and by the Holy Spirit they have been able to achieve a lot of things by embracing the values of Laudato Si’.This had helped them to respond to Pope Francis’ invitation to care for mother Earth.The SCCs engage in praying, cleanliness, tree planting and animal rearing in homes and villages .
SCCs at the parish do the following;
- Care for creation: Members work together to promote environmental sustainability, reduce waste, and protect natural resources.
- Support vulnerable communities: SCCs reach out to those most affected by environmental degradation, such as the poor and marginalized.
- Promote integral ecology: Christians reflect on the interconnectedness of human and environmental well-being, seeking to address social and environmental issues together.
By integrating Laudato Si’ into their lives, SCCs help to;
- Deepen the member’s faith: By reflecting on God’s creation and our role as stewards.
- Build relationships: By working together on environmental and social issues.
- Serve others: By promoting sustainability and supporting vulnerable communities.
