Embracing a new leadership role in service to the church and community and institutions. Mr. Rusahura Daniel was today officially sworn in to the executive team of the Fort Portal Catholic Diocese as a Laudato Si focal person for the Laudato youth initiative. With a background of guiding Laudato Si clubs in schools within the diocese, he is now prepared to expand the mission across the entire diocese and its institutions working in collaboration with the Laudato Youth Initiative.

This appointment comes with hope basing on Mr. Daniel’s commitment to youth leadership within the diocese, bringing a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the position. Gratitude is extended to Rev Fr Paul Mugabyomu Amooti, the Fort Portal Diocesan youths Chaplain, for his guidance and mentorship in this journey.

Looking ahead, Mr. Daniel aims to inspire fellow leaders to promote the message of Laudato Si, incorporating its principles into the work of the Laudato youth initiative. By engaging with young people on the social teachings of the Catholic Church, Laudato Si, the Letter, Laudate Deum and Sustainable Development Goal 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts he hopes to cultivate a generation of environmentally conscious and proactive individuals.

Congratulations to Mr. Daniel Rusahura and the Fort Portal Diocese on this exciting new chapter of leadership and service. We look forward to more strides and work in the diocese.
