Core Laudato Youth Initiative Pillars

Creativity and Innovation

Innovative technologies that can significantly reduce climate change Our Laudato Clubs are seeking to unite young people by empowering them to use talent, creativity, and innovation to address the problems and effects of Climate Change. With a special focus on agricultural, and food security problems and now the prevailing floods, mudslides, and droughts that are causing harm or even claiming lives and property in some parts of the Country.

The reality remains Climate Change effects can be reduced if serious action and precautionary measures are taken. Whereas we focus on being part of the solution, not the problem, we do that through behavioral change communication and, the development of unique creative, and innovative solutions that empower our young people to venture into sustainable scientific research and innovation to instill a foundation for prior knowledge of environmental stewardship and problem-solving.

Venturing in smart agriculture, and food productivity as a priority need to combat hunger and reduce poverty. When we empower young people with knowledge to nurture specific skills and offer them an opportunity to engage in hands-on training within the school and community through volunteering, they are better prepared to take up bigger innovations for their University Research and community engagements and future careers. We currently have students involved in creative projects like,..

Biodiversity loss prevention mechanisms i.e. Embarking on the journey of hope by raising voices for plant and animal species at risk of extinction.

Creativity and Innovation

Our emphasis on creativity and innovation drives young people to develop unique solutions to combat climate change. By leveraging technologies and fostering a culture of sustainability, we equip youth with the tools to address environmental challenges in their local contexts.

Through projects like smart agriculture, technological solutions to prevailing climate challenges in our country like floods, waste management, carbon emission reduction embracing the use of electric machines, rescue operations in hard-to-reach areas like Bududa and Kasese, events of floods and mudslides, innovations that advance the production of more electricity through solar energy, water management, food security initiatives, and biodiversity conservation efforts among others. In these matters, our young people are encouraged to think critically and act responsibly.

We empower and inspire Laudato Youth to take charge and develop innovative solutions to ecological challenges aware that Innovative technologies can significantly combat and mitigate climate change effects in our Country, but these projects also prepare our Laudato Youth to be more productive citizens in the future who are problem solvers and climate Change sensitive citizens.
