Laudato Youth Initiative: Season of Creation Celebration

Event Schedule

9:00 AM – Mass
Celebrate the Season of Creation with a special Mass at St. Andre Bessette Parish. The Parish Youth Choir will lead us in hymns and songs that reflect our commitment to environmental stewardship and community unity.

Offertory Gifts
In a meaningful gesture, the offertory will consist of fruit trees, Muvule trees, and banana suckers. These gifts will be planted as part of our ongoing efforts to enhance green spaces and promote sustainable agriculture.

After Mass – Program Highlights

• Reading of Pope Francis’ Message
  Experience the profound insights of Pope Francis’ message for this year’s Season of Creation, which will be read aloud to inspire and motivate us in our ecological and community endeavors.
• Quotations from Laudato Si’
  Reflect on selected quotations from Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’, which underscores our responsibility towards our common home.
• Sharing of Success Stories
  Hear inspiring success stories from our club members, showcasing the achievements and milestones we’ve reached in our nearly one year of activities.
• Messages from Key Figures
  • Mr. Alex, President of Gulu Club: A special address from Alex, who will share his vision and reflections on our journey and future goals.
  • Fr. Berry, Our Patron: Words of encouragement and blessings from Fr. Berry, highlighting the importance of our mission and the impact of our work.
  • Sarah, Our President: Should she be present, Sarah will offer her message, emphasizing the collective effort and spirit of our initiative.

Tree Planting Activity
Immediately following the messages, we will engage in a collective tree planting ceremony at the parish grounds. This hands-on activity symbolizes our commitment to nurturing and protecting the environment.

Sightseeing and Land Blessing

• Visit to the One Acre Land
  Tour the newly offered one-acre plot designated for establishing a large nursery. The visit will include a blessing of the land and a ceremonial launch of the nursery project, marking the beginning of a new chapter in our environmental efforts.

Break Tea at Alex’s Place
Enjoy a relaxing break with tea and snacks at Alex’s home. This informal gathering will provide an opportunity for fellowship and further discussion on our projects and plans.

Departure
The day will conclude at leisure, allowing participants to depart as they wish after a fulfilling and inspiring day.

• Dress Code: Comfortable attire suitable for both indoor and outdoor activities is recommended.
• What to Bring: Participants may wish to bring gardening gloves and hats for the tree planting activity.
